Doctor Elaine Visits Room 4

Today Dr Elaine came to visit our class to explain her role as a lung doctor. We have been learning about The Body so we were very clever at pinning the right  body parts onto Spider-Man. We asked Elaine lots of questions about the body and she told us all about her job. Elaine showed us some special tools that doctors uses and we were able to try them out on each other.
Here are some photos that we took of the visit today....

Rangitoto Erupts

Toby and Sam (Rm 14) pouring the vinegar & baking soda into the volcano

The volcano slowly starting to erupt....
Rangitoto Erupts!

Today we got together with Room 14 to create our volcano explosion. During the holidays Toby with the help of his family made this fabulous volcano. We decided that it was time for our volcano to erupt so we mixed together vinegar and baking soda to make an explosion. Wow - look at all that lava! Both classes thoroughly enjoyed themselves and we're sure that Room 5 nearby could hear all our screams!

Putting our foods into the right food groups
We have been learning about how to stay healthy. Claire and Harold talked to us about the importance of eating a balanced diet. We need to eat a variety of foods from the different food groups. Here are some photos that we took of our visit.
